Founded in 1976 by Joe Vernon, Saratoga Youth Hockey (SYHI) has been providing organized hockey to boys and girls of all levels of ability in the Saratoga, NY region for over 30 years. As in 1976, we still strive to meet Joe's dream of making ice hockey accessible to any child who wants to play.
SYHI is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit, community-based grassroots hockey program dedicated to providing all ages of youth participants with the opportunity to experience the great game of hockey. Our goal is to offer the best possible experience by encouraging, developing and advancing those youth participants through a structured program that emphasizes hockey skill development (to include skating, puck-handling, passing and shooting), having fun and learning the game. SYHI programs shall also emphasize good sportsmanship and respect for others through team play and a positive sense of responsibility to self and team and organization.
